ATTAINING

HAPPINESS

While census data show that many measures of quality of life have risen over the past five decades, studies show that the number of people who consider themselves to be happy remains flat. This has led researchers to look for those things that will make people happy. One thing they found was that, once income provides basic needs, it does not correlate to happiness. So, what does? Strong marriages, family ties, and friendships predict happiness, as do spirituality and selfesteem. Hope is crucial, as is the feeling that life has meaning. Moreover, helping people to be happy helps the giver experience stronger relationships, renewed hope, and a general upward spiraling of happiness.

Oftentimes the death of a loved one can infuse us with a sense of the sacred gift that is life. We can become more attuned to all that we are grateful for and we see clearly how short and precious our time here is. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, we are experienced in providing compassionate professional funeral planning, whether you need preneed counseling or are dealing with an immediate loss. Call 347-3431 (233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton) 24-hours a day. “Happiness is a delicate balance between what one is and what one has.”
