Ki Theatre announces a series of Life Stories Workshops scheduled for September, October and November in Washington.
Julie Portman, who leads the workshops, is an Obie award winning writer and theatre artist who lives in Rappahannock County. She has been teaching Life Stories Workshops for the past seven year.
Ms. Portman, who directed Theatre Workshop in Boston and was the director of the play RIOT in New York, has focused on writing, performing and community work over the past 15 years. She has written a series of plays inspired by personal stories including “Katie Malone”,”How Dad Created The World”, and “My Sister’s Sister”. The plays have received hundreds of productions nationally and internationally. Her most recent play, Three Roses, will be broadcast again the fall on Public Television.
