He said that there will be minimal impact on the community as a result of the rezoning and he pointed that the application is unusual because the Lams are not doing it for economic gain. Mr. Henry concluded that he supported the rezoning if the proffers were modified to remove the possibility of further subdivision "in perpetuity."

Tom Tepper (StonewallHawthorne District) said that he had come to the meeting "with thoughts of denial of the application," but that part of the Planning Commission’s job was to listen to the public and that public support for the Lam's application was substantial. He said that he thought that the property fit the rural residential designation because of the lack of agricultural uses in the area, and that he support the application "if we can make sure that it's not a precedent."
