He also worked on the lunar landing facility at NASA at Langley, many NACA and NASA office buildings, and the 16-foot wind tunnel.

A longtime member of Hampton Baptist Church, he served as Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of the Sunday School, Premises Committee Chairman, member of the choir, and Deacon. He pursued numerous civic duties as well including the Hampton Planning Commission, leader of Hampton Boy Scout Troop 78 for many years, and a tutor for adult literacy.

Mr. Robbins was presented with a life Membership in the Association of Graduates of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, in March 2000.

Mr. Robbins was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Garber, and is survived
