Emergency Medical Technician Debbie Fantaci can remember only one time when the same young woman won each of the titles of the annual Rappahannock County Beauty Pageant, sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Company.
She’s not talking about winning the titles consecutively. And she’s not positive it never happened in the years before she became involved with the rescue squad’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
What Fantaci is talking about is 17-year-old Jammie Magee of Amissville, who has won each of the titles in the pageant from “Tiny Tot” right up to the esteemed, “Miss Rappahannock.”
The 11th grader, who goes to Rappahannock High School half-time and studies cosmetology at Front Royal Beauty School five days a week, has entered the contest almost every year since she was two in 1987. She has won titles 10 times.
“There’s no doubt about it, there’s something special about Jammie. She is well-deserving of her titles,” said Fantaci, of Sperryville. “She’s very beautiful but she is also very friendly and it just illuminates off her face.”
Dressed to the hilt, jeweled and crowned, Jammie has represented the county as “Tiny Tot” once, “Wee Miss” twice, “Little Miss” once, “Jr. Miss” three times and “Miss Rappahannock” once. She has also won the additional titles of “Miss Photogenic” once at age 14, and “Sisters,” with her three siblings, once at age 10.
