Over 160 girls and boys from Virginia traveled to Wakefield Country Day School in Flint Hill on March 16 to participate in the Virginia Region Pony Club’s Quiz Competition, hosted by Rappahannock County’s Old Rag Mountain Pony Club.
The annual national event, held at different sites throughout the country, tests pony clubbers’depth of knowledge in such horse-related subjects as stable management, identification and characteristics of different breeds, proper care and feeding of horses, rules governing horse competitions, types of saddles and tack and riding safety rules.
