Builders, started their season against a formidable opponent in Madison. The pair met in Criglersville Elementary under wet conditions. Half time saw a 2 to 1 lead for Rapp. Shortly into the 2nd half, the score was 3 - 3. ,
A persistent Rapp team shot many goals against an outstanding Madison goalie. The final score was 5 -3 for a Rapp victory. Steve “Dodson scored three goals aided by unselfish defensive play by Bennett Eastham and Jacob Racer contributing to the victory for Rapp.
U-14
Rappahannock U-14 Sharks coached by Dave Gillis and sponsored by White Oak Veterinary, had a great first game.
They started slow circling the Madison team, deciding just how to strike for the win. They tugged and pulled the entire match and finally with about seven minutes remaining found a way to score a goal. That’s not to say there weren’t other shots on Goal. . .there were many but just right on the mark.
The game was covered with the Sharks’ signature style of unselfish passing. In fact the score was the result of great teamwork.
