Hearthstone s auction
Hearthstone School's annual Hootenanny will become a Hoot ‘n Auction on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall, with a between-set auction of high quality goods and services joining the musical performances. A highlight will be a bachelor auction of some of Rappahannock’s most eligible men. Persons who have items and services to donate, and interested bachelors, should call the school at 987-9212, or Diane Bardwell at 987-8553. Suggested donation will be $7 at the door.
Rabies Clinic for pets
It’s that time again for the Rabies Clinic sponsored by the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League. Vaccinations will be available for dogs and cats on Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the RAWL shelter on Route 639 off Route 211 in Amissville by the landfill. It will be $10 per pet. ‘Spring Event ’ on April 26
The Washington Baptist Church will hold its annual “Spring Event Fundraiser” on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same time as the Fodderstack 10K Race. There will be a huge yard sale inside the church Fellowship Hall and a bake sale and hot dog/hamburger lunch on the courthouse grounds. To donate items for the sale, contact the church office at 675-3336. Proceeds go toward the church building fund. Everyone is invited.
Headwaters board to meet
The April board of directors meeting for Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, will take place Monday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County extension office. The meeting is open to the public.
Register for Fodderstack

Free Easter Egg Hunt
The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will host its annual free Easter Egg Hunt for children up to 12 years of age on Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. Each child will receive a candy basket.
