According to high school principal Roger Mello, a portion of the room is being used for storage because of a lack of adequate storage space in the building. He added that the room would be restored to its designed use in time for the next wrestling season.
Chairman Wesley Mills opined that his interpretation was that the contract (with Wells) is over once the building is built.
"It now belongs to the school," he said.
Wakefield District School Board member Rosa Crocker and Piedmont District member Aline Johnson later said that they agreed with Mills' interpretation and with Warner's comments.
In his comments Ron Makela repeated his request, made at the School Board's March meeting, that sitting School Board members declare their intentions regarding running again for the School Board in the November 2003 elections or provide a date by which they will make such declarations.
Warner responded sharply to Makela's request. He said that he finds it "off-putting" and noted that "there’s nothing that requires you to make that' declaration until June (the filing date)."

Students Andrew and Patrick TYeanor opened the meeting with a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner on trumpet and French horn. Both have been awarded first chairs in the Tri-County Band.
Student representative Henry Robertson reported that all went well with the senior trip. He said, We had a great time. The chaperones were great . . . the weather was great. Love to do it again, but we only get one."
