an information coordinator, died March 27 at her home in Arlington.
A resident of Arlington since 1950, she was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church where she served as Church Council President, and President of the Lutheran Church Women.
She had also maintained a country retreat in Washington, Va. since the late 1960s and attended Trinity Episcopal Church.
After her retirement in the early 1990s she continued at the Smithsonian as an information volunteer at the National Air and Space Museum.
She was married to Thomas Bennett Van Poole, Jr. at Wake Forrest in 1949. Her husband died in 1993.
She is survived by her three children, Thomas Bennett Van Poole HI, of Annandale, Virginia Cromwell Van Poole Atwell of Silver Spring, Md. and Elizabeth Anne Van Poole Bouchard of Arlington. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Knight Cocke Bloch of Seattle, Washington and four grandchildren.
