Williams was an 18-year-old senior at Rappahannock High School due to graduate a month later. She was a passenger in the front seat of a car driven by another teenager, who also lost her life despite the use of seat belts and air bags in the car. The car slammed into a large walnut tree on Route 729 and the accident saddened the county.
The memorial fund established in Williams’ name has as its purpose the funding of scholarships for higher education, camp attendance and other activities for the youth of Rappahannock County.
