prior to kicking off their season at Culpeper's Emerald Hill last Saturday.
The Rapp girls fought off the early morning shivers from the cold drizzle and played tough. The Culpeper team dribbled the ball well, and were able to squirt past the Pink Panther defenders to notch a couple quick goals before the Rapp defense tightened.
Annie Bennet stepped in as the Pink Panther goalie for the second half, and shut down the Culpeper offense before she had to leave the game due to an injury. (She’s fine—an accidental collision with a Culpeper forward).
Joslyn Smith and Sarah Wheatley both had shots at the Culpeper goalie, but just missea. Considering there are many first time soccer players on the Pink Panther team this spring, they played very well. They may have come up on the short end of the scoreboard this game, but they had a great time.
