“There used to be an apple festival in Sperryville, back when Faith Mountain was on Main Street. They blocked off the street and there was a big kettle set up where people were making apple butter. There were stands selling apple cider and baked goods and snow cones. The Ladies Auxiliary cooked hamburgers and hot dogs from a trailer set up in the parking lot of the bookstore. You couldn’t even stir through the streets, there were so many people.”
