County Medals, the highest 4-H award given to club members, were presented Oct. 8 during 4H night. Recipients were: Courtney Jones and Kim Gilkey, leadership; Kelly Gilkey and Cindy Williams, clothing consumer education; Judith Lynn Bloomer, achievement award in consumer education; and Gail and Sandy Wines, clothing project.

Navy Airman Tony W. Atkins, son of Mahlon W. and Alice E. Atkins of Sperryville was recently selected as Sailor of the Quarter with Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14, Naval Air Station, Norfolk. The 1990 graduate of Rappahannock County High School joined the Navy in 1992.

Nick Konick, son of David and Jule Konick of Washington, was selected as one of the class officers to the Student Government at Wakefield Country Day School.
