“Normally, we teach the kids to tackle instead of trying to strip the ball,” Clinedinst said. “But we had the runner contained and Tim made a smart play.”
Jordan Tbrrance kicked the extra point to put Rappahannock County up 13-6.
In the fourth quarter. Page County scored and went for the 2-point conversion with a screen pass. Grant and Will Sonnett made the stop at the goal line to preserve the lead.
Tim Robinson led the defense with 10 tackles and a sack. Will Sonnett also had a sack to go with his eight tackles.
“We still had a lot of missed tackles. Well take the win, but we’re still working on our offense,” Clinedinst said.”
Clinedinst praised his quarterback, Jonathan Butler, who took a lot of hits in the first half.
“He’s a leader for the team,” Clinedinst said. “He stuck in there.”
