Not satisfied in bringing the joy of creation only to children, Reisler also hosts the annual Ki Theatre Song Camp, which will be the weekend of Oct. 29-31. Each year the camp attracts songwriters from across the country.
“Song Camp attracts professional songwriters, as well as farmers, accountants, lawyers, artists, anyone with a song in their heart that they want to develop,” states Reisler. This year’s weekend kicks off with a Friday evening concert at The Theatre in Washington featuring Reisler, Jon Vezner, and Billy Jonas, songwriters and performers who are also this year’s guest instructors at the Song Camp. During a weekend of workshops, songwriters will learn writing techniques, gain inspiration, refine their skills and finally, just enjoy the company of other artists.
It was 15 years ago that Reisler moved to Rappahannock to pursue his art. The richness of the artistic community drew him here. Now he adds tenfold to the community that' welcomed him by gathering young and old alike to help them pursue their dreams and realize the artist within each of them.
