Landmark
farm put in
easement
The Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF), Rappahannock County, and Mrs. Louise King Eastham announced on Monday that an open space easement was recorded on 1,885 acres of Ben Venue.
This landmark farm just off U. S. 211 at Ben Venue has remained in the family for 200 years. The property includes agricultural and forestland surrounding the historic homestead, which was established in 1805 by William H. Fletcher and his wife, Elizabeth.
Said Mrs. Eastham, “This land is in my blood, and I wanted to preserve it for the next generation.”
