Richard Thornton Hitt, Sr. of Amissville died Dec. 29 at Royal Haven Rest Home in Front Royal.
He was bom Oct. 26, 1925 to the late Johnnie and Laurelia Carrico Hitt of Warrenton.
Mr. Hitt was retired as superintendent ofWills and Van Metre Construction Company. He also operated R&B Antique Shop on Route 211 in Amissville for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Hackley Hitt, a daughter Pat Cundiff of Culpeper, two sons Richard T. Hitt, Jr., of Culpeper and Gregory A. Hitt of Bealeton, a stepdaughter Cindy Kelly and stepson Charles D. Baldwin both of Amissville.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Hazel Butler of Warrenton, Helenia
