received a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and have requested that the Board of Supervisors continue to be the fiscal agent as it has in the past year.
The board voted unanimously to continue functioning in this capacity for the group.
Also unanimously approved by the board is the formation a Water Quality Advisory Committee.
According to John McCarthy, who proposed the appointment, “There is a need for research and guidance throughout the county where water quality issues are concerned,” he said.
The committee will be composed of one representative each from the Planning Commission, the Health Department, the Water and Sewer Authority, the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District, the Extension Agent, the Farmland Protection Committee, the Town of Washington, RappFLOW, the Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance, a Rappahannock County High School student, a member from the Board of Realtors and a Board of Supervisors member.
Hampton District Supervisor S. Bryaht Lee volunteered to serve on the Water Quality Advisory Committee as the board representative.
