The Rappahannock County High School boys’ basketball team faced Page County in the first round of the Page County holiday tournament last week, falling 72-41 against a powerful full court press.
The Rapp Panthers struggled throughout the tourney, but 6’2” sophomore forward Will Miller stepped up under the basket in the absence of several Rappahannock starters.
Page County’s press was too much for Rapp in the first period, the blue and gold putting up only two with Paige Payne’s free throws to the Page Panthers 25 points scored.
However, Miller started off the second period with a threepointer and pressed on to score 11 for Rappahannock. The first period hole was too much for the Rapp Panthers to fill, although outshooting Page in the second. Rapp went to the locker room at the half down 37-16.
