In a trail which began Monday, Marshall appeared before a 9-man, 3-woman jury in the Rappahannock County Circuit Court and was found guilty of second-degree murder.
Marshall, a convicted felon from a previous charge of posession of a firearm in 1996, was also charged with "knowingly and intentionally possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony."
Chi that charge, Marshall was also found guilty.
A motion to continue had been entered on July 13, 2004 as the defense attorney Michael Harrington pursued an insanity plea.
The plea was based on.the belief that Marshall suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of his participation in the Vietnam War during early adulthood.
