Edwards father was stationed in Germany while serving with the United States Army, giving him the opportunity of gaining an education overseas.
Not only does Edwards coach at Wakefield Country Day School, but has been the AAU girls’ basketball coach for Rappahannock County for the past five years.
“I really love coaching,” said Edwards, “watching how the girls improve on the court, I feel like I have accomplished something.”
Edwards plans to graduate from Old Dominion University in May. Currently, he is attending Lord Fairfax Community College where his concentration is on mathematics and psychology.
Edwards would like to stay in the area, hoping to teach at WCDS next year.
“Wakefield has welcomed him (Edwards) with open arms,” said Kenney, “The kids love him.
