• During the early 1960s the old Spillman place at Viewtown was still standing but it had been abandoned and was beyond repair. An individual told me that during this time as a young boy, he went over to the old house to explore many times. He said that on one occasion, he noticed that some cows had walked up the old wide staircase. He followed the manure covered steps to find some cows at the top looking out the windows on the third floor!
