It’s a quiet evening. The prime time movie is about to begin in the family room. Suddenly... “Stay tuned to this station for a special announcement. The national weather service is predicting ten to twelve inches of snow within the neat twenty-four hours. Cancellations will be announced as they are received."
The children cheer as their parents groan. Though some of us look forward to the snow, it is a source of inconvenience for many. A loss of electricity, fender-benders, that frantic search for child-care when the schools close...snowy weather can add to our stress. Tet, when we are all "snowed in", we have the opportunity for togetherness that we otherwise wouldn’t. This is a good time to drink hot chocolate and to share our thoughts and our dreams and to reflect upon God’s role in our lives.
