Rappahannock News Staff Writer
A Rappahannock County rivalry was settled last week as Rappahannock County High School and Wakefield Country Day School’s girls’ basketball teams went head to head, in a game Rapp won 46-42.
“It’s nice to get our first win,” said Rapp coach J.D. Almond.
The game started with Rapp hitting two at the line putting the first points on the board.Wakefield answered back with one at the line and a field goal immediately following.
“We matched their intensity,” said Wakefield coach Jim Dale.
Playing aggressive defense the Lady Panthers forced many turnovers in the first half, leading to easy fast break baskets.
