Board of Supervisors has chosen rapid growth over the prudent protection of the best interests of the citizens of Culpeper County and her nearest neighbors.
The Monday night vote by the Culpeper County Supervisors to allow Centex Corporation to build 774 homes and 400,000 squarefeet of commercial floor space at Clevenger’s Corner risks higher property taxes for all Culpeper citizens, threatens the Rappahannock River watershed, guarantees future traffic congestion for Routes 211 and 229. and puts Culpeper County firmly on the path toward early urbanization of its once prized rural landscape and country way of life.
