Joe McKinney will be the featured speaker at the Fauquier County Civil War Roundtable’s monthly dinner meeting scheduled for February 9.
McKinney’s talk will be on “Duffie’ at Stevensburg.”
McKinney is a historian who lives in Brandy Station near the Brandy Station battlefield and Fleetwood Hill, where the main action of the battle occurred. Duffie’s cross-' ing at Kelly’s Ford, his planned movement toward Stevensburg, and what happened to his troops were of crucial importance to the final outcome of the battle.
