Looking out over the crowd of more than 500 citizens who came to show their support for Jim Webb’s candidacy for the United States Senate, former U.S. senator Bennett Johnston (D-LA) declared, “There’s energy in Jim Webb’s campaign. The momentum is building. Now is the time to stand up and be counted,” he urged Webb supporters. Ending his “pep talk” with a quote from Thomas Jefferson, Johnston prompted Webb’s supporters to remember, “One man with courage makes a majority.”
