Thomas Kirk, Executive Director of the Jesse and Rose Loeb Foundation, left, hands the keys to the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company’s new ambulance to Chief J. B. Carter, Jr. The muscular Ford F450 ambulance is a 2006 model, four wheel drive, outfitted by the South Carolina firm Road Rescue, Inc. The vehicle is loaded with updated electronics, interior designed to accommodate two patients and as many as three attendants. It has been in service since May of this year. Mr. Kirk arranged for the Loeb Foundation of Warrenton to pay nearly all of the $120,000 needed to pay for the ambulance.

The tv system, with a matching interior camera, gives the ambulance driver a view backward that he or she has never had before: what hazards or obstacles that may stand behind the vehicle or - with the touch of a button - ' what is taking place in the patient care area.
