Trooper Roop pursued the two traveling south on 522. Roop sighted the two bikers three-quarters of a mile ahead of him, but soon lost sight of them. After remaining in the area he spotted them parked next to the road.

As he turned around to apprehend the fleeing motorcyclists, citizens in the area motioned towards state road 604. Roop followed them, catching up with them in a 15-35 mph zone traveling at speeds of 85 mph. The motorcyclists attempted to reduce speed in order to make a sharp turn, but instead lost control of their motorcycles striking the dirt bank near the road. Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue teams responded sending one rider to a hospital in Culpeper and another rider was flown to Fairfax County hospital for treatment.

Injuries to the bikers were reportedly not life threatening. Charges are pending the subjects release from the hospital. The State Police is still investigating the identi
