Farm, Copper Fox Antiques, Attic Treasures, Elmer’s Antiques, Motorcycle Leatherworks, Sperryville Antique Market, Old Rag Gallery, Long View Gallery, the local wineries, and gift baskets at Shadow Rock Gallery. It goes without saying that the most important gifts we have to give our family and friends is our love and caring. However, if you do shop, please shop at home.

Correction: I learned a valuable lesson about taking information from my phone mail without double checking. I apologize to Thelma Atkins for incorrectly hearing her message regarding her daughters: Cathy celebrated her birthday on the 24th and Rhonda celebrated her 50th birthday on the 25th.

Barbecue by

our Assistant

Postmistress

Ray and I could not resist driving up to the park late Sunday afternoon to enjoy the light and leaves. We stopped to get a barbecue at Beech Spring Farms and were delighted to see the woman we see almost every day at the Post Office, Eileen Barrett, and her husband Gene. Eileen had asked Phyllis Swindler if they could set up one weekend and Phyllis invited them to stay weekends through Veterans Day. So if you have a hankering for a good barbecue, homemade potato salad and cole slaw, stop in, next to that mural of quilts on the truck. While you are at it, take home a jar of their own Bubba’s Backyard Barbecue Sauce for yourself or for a holiday gift basket for a friend.
