Truth is, these so-called “fines” are nothing more than a ill disguised tax increase, foisted on us by cowardly lawmakers in Richmond; a tax increase whose burden falls the hardest on working Virginians, men and women who depend on an automobile to earn a living.

And what about the dubious logic of making highway funding dependent on high rates of vehicular crime; shame on the people in Richmond, both Democrats and Republicans, who bought into this nonsense. If it is one thing we do not need, is to have our Sheriff's deputies and State Police officers become revenue agents for the Commonwealth.

There is one sure way to set things right again, vote for Maxine Roles for State Senate on Nov. 6. She is the one candidate on the ballot who is committed to repealing this stupidity, restoring justice, and untangling law enforcement from road construction.
