Cioceanu said she feels the problem that most needs addressing is those who are still working and therefore do not meet the clinic requirement that their income be 150 percent below the federal poverty level - but who aren’t making enough to afford health insurance.
“It’s hard," she said. “We continue to see new patients. Only a small percentage of our funding comes from government, and most of it comes from donations, and pharmaceutical companies donate prescription drugs.
“But a lot of people are losing jobs and losing insurance, and this year, we have almost doubled our patients ” she said, counting both F auquier and Rappahannock locations.
