Guess what the news is at the Rappahannock Coop. According to Becky Harman, Rappahannock Coop Retail Department Manager, they are having a Back to School close- out sale on all Carhartt clothing. Deals you will not believe. Also, all Whirlpool appliances are on close-out sale; the Coop will not be carrying any more appliances after they sell what’s in the store.
Moms, now is your chance to get that new self-cleaning oven or that new refrigerator that has been on your dream list for sometime. Check those items out while they last.

Gay Street Inn co-owners Jay Brown and Kevin Adams took a local “stay-cation” this past Sunday: They stayed overnight at Mary Ann Kuhn’s Middleton Inn, two doors down from their own B&B. The pair bought donated gift certificates from Middleton Inn and from John and Diane MacPherson’s Foster Harris House during the most recent fund-raising auction for the Child Care and Learning Center (CCLC).
“We thought it would be a great way to support CCLC and treat ourselves to a couple of nights off, with someone else cooking breakfast for us, for a change,” Brown said. Some of the very best quality B&Bs in the state are right here in Rappahannock, Brown added. He and Adams were delighted by the outstanding sendee and excellent breakfasts during their stays at the two bed and breakfasts, he said.
The next CCLC auction takes place Nov. 14. If others take Brow'n and Adam’s cue, there will be some competitive bidding for this year’s crop of local B&B gift certificates.
