For example, it is not unusual for units from Amissville to respond to emergency calls in the Sperryville area when Sperryville Rescue and Sperryville Fire Department units have been otherwise occupied on previous calls. Consider a unit from Amissville not only trying to find an unfamiliar private lane near Sperryville, but also wasting precious minutes trying to find a specific unposted address on that lane.
Adequate address postings mandated by ordinance would eliminate that problem, and undoubtedly save lives and properties. That is the sole goal of such an ordinance. Give the emergency responders in Rappahannock County a tool we can use to do what we are chartered to do - save lives and property, and protect the environment.
