Troop Guide, Carl Liles, to the camp staff, both serving as merit badge counselors for the five weeks of Boy Scout summer camp.
Bret Heddleston, Troop Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, participated in the ZEB High Adventure Program, and so sometimes traveled during the day to Harpers Ferry for tubing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and in one case overnight, for a 24-hour endurance hike in the Dolly Sods of West Virginia, including a moonlight rappel.
The troop included the audience in its humorous skit during the closing campfire. As is often the case, the joke was on those enlisted. First Class Scout Aidan Gould was presented the award for Best Archery Target, bringing further accolades to his troop. As a final coup, five troop scouts and Assistant Scoutmaster Rich Pavne were inducted into the Order of the Arrow, scouting’s Honor Society, during a torch-lit-American Indianinspired ceremony Friday night.
