After eating breakfast each day in the communal dining hall, the scouts would spend much of their day in merit badge sessions, earning a total of 57 in the following fields: Archery, Basketry, Canoeing, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Cooking, Communications, Climbing, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Fishing, Geology, Indian Lore, Insect Study, Orienteering, Personal Management, Personal Fitness, Pioneering, Reptile and Amphibian Study, Wilderness Survival, and Woodcarving.
Interspersed throughout the day for some were a few hours of free time, used among other things, to build a footbridge from their campsite to the Scoutcraft instructional area. In combination with a perfect campsite inspection score, the troop qualified for the Rock Enon Elite Award, a goal set by the scouts themselves.
