It was an uncharacteristically cool, but sunny, Virginia summer day as Boy Scout Troop 36 rallied at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington after Sunday worship services on Aug. 2. The scouts had been preparing for months by working on merit badge prerequisites, passing the Boy Scout Swim Test and practicing their camping skills at Wakefield Manor in Huntlv, and Big Run State Park in Western Maryland.
