Mary Schaefer, an adjoining property owner, asked if business would be confined to daylight hours, as the proposed shop was in a residential area, and if flammable materials and chemicals would be stored at the location.
Haase replied that business hours would be during the day with personal projects only going on at night. He said that limited amounts of flammables would be stored but would comply with all regulations imposed by the Occupational Safety and Health Act and fire fighting equipment would be kept on hand.
“Then I don’t oppose the project,” Mrs. Schaefer responded. "Anything done will be an improvement over what is there now. . .I’ve heard no opposition voiced on the street but I haven’t discussed this with my neighbors,” she added.
The BZA members voted unanimously to approve issuance of a special use permit subject to the applicant’s submitting detailed drawings and plans including the type of building materials to be used, exact location of construction and pitch and height of roof.
