passenger cars is 55 mph on the interstate system, other limited access highways with divided roadways, nonlimited access highways having four or more lanes and on all state primary highways. This law brings the Code into conformance with the Governor’s order on the 55 mph speed limit and removes the differential between trucks and passenger cars, except on secondary highways.

—Temporary driving permits for persons under 18 years of age may be valid for one year, rather than six months as the previous law stated.
—Effective January 1, 1978, inspection is required of new model motor vehicles within 12 months of the first inspection where purchased.
