More than 1,200 women from every walk of life in Virginia attended the meeting whose theme was “To Form a More Perfect Union.’’ The workshops numbering more than 30 included such topics as “The Creative Woman”, “Women in Politics”, “Health Needs of Virginia Women”, “Legal Status of Homemakers and Female Heads of Households”, “Women in Sports”, “Equal Employment Opportunities”, “Needs of Virginia’s Rural Women” and “The Equal Rights Amendment—Pro and Con”, which was by far the most popular workshop.
