Girl Scout G
A court of Awards for all girls involved in scouting in Rappahannock was held June 4 at the recreation center at Washington, followed by a picnic. A flag ceremony was conducted by the Junior Troop No. 547 and 12 Brownies from Troop No. 955 flew up into the Junior group.
Kim Helmer received an award for finishing her Brownie Beehive and Nancy Proctor was given a year segment for cookie sales. Dancer, writing and sewing badges were given to the Juniors and 15 girls bridged up to Cadettes.
Courtney Jones gave a reading df welcome to the new Cadettes and first aid badges were presented five of the Cadettes in Troop No. 380. All scouts were given a pin denoting a year’s participation in the scouting program.
Cadettes, Juniors, and Brownie Fly-Ups will march in the Spertyvflle Firemen’s Parade June 21. All girls must be in uniform, and

Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Whorton announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Joann, to Fernando F. Martinez, son of Mrs. Pablita Martinez Herrington of Arlington, originally from Sante Fe, N. M. The wedding will take place June 18, 1977, at Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church near Washington.
