James J. Kilpatrick will be the guest of honor at Rush River Company’s Christmas Open House on Saturday, December 3. Rappahannock’s resident eminence will autograph * ,~eopies of his latest book, The Foxes Union, from 2 p.m. until 3.
The Foxes Union may well be the book that made Rappahannock famous. Kilpatrick, with his tales of people, places and beasts in the county, could become responsible for a migration that rivals the California Gold Rush.
But along with the fear that hordes of newcomers will be pulled into Rappahannock by the joys of life in the country, Kilpatrick’s book should give readers who already live here a sense of satisfaction. It’s nice to know that the most widely read columnist in the whole country thinks this is such a fine place to be.
While Kilpatrick is undoubtably the prime attraction at the party, Rush River’s open house will also feature other entertainment.
