Robinson, who said the federal government is not known for “giving up anything,” urged continued support for the center by organizations and individuals throughout Northern Virginia, where there are some 250,000 youth of 4-H age (9-19).
“We’ve only just begun,” observed state 4-H director Kenneth E. Darson, noting that now there are 217,000 Virginia 4-H members, an increase of 16,000 over last year. The center will join a statewide network meeting needs created by this continued growth of 4-H, Dawson said.
