Evergreens symbolized everlasting life, and the victory of the sun’s light and life-giving powers over the dark long days of the winter.
When the Druids and other northern peoples accepted Christianity, they continued their winter rites but changed them to honor Christ. The evergreen tree came to denote His bringing new life to the world after the long dark days of winter.
In the Middle Ages, religious mystery plays were performed in the great cathedrals. One of the most popular of these was the Paradise play, representing the creation of man, the sin 4pf Adam and Eve, and their

Among those present were Allison Martin, Stephanie Tornedan, Jennifer Moreman, Christy Nautried, Douglas Kilpatrick, and Mrs. Nan Perdue, teacher. Courtney Jones, Camilla’s older sister, helped with the * planning and games.
