The Rappahannock County Recreation Association • held a ^organizational meeting last* Wednesday. Dec. 7. Officers' elected were Doug Baumgardner, president, and Jean Lillard, secretarytreasurer. Robert Haase agreed to serve as chairman of the publicity committee.
The group unanimously voted to charge a $20 fee to aduh groups for use of the recreational center at Washington. Of this, $10 would be refundable if the center is left in a clean condition. These fees would be used to help defray operating costs, such as insurance and utilities.
The first priority of the group will be to install an allpurpose court for basektball, volleyball, shuffieboard, and badminton. Ed Bailey volunteered to check into construction costs of the proposed court.
Others present at the meeting were T. Granville Eastham, Bob Eastham, Roger Flinchum, Scott Jenkins, Dawn Keithley, Susan Lane, Bill Lyne and Rap Owings.
The next scheduled meeting will be held in the courthouse on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Auxiliary Party
The Washington Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Fire and Rescue Departments will hold their annual Christmas party on Saturday evening, Dec. 17, in the fire house at 7:30 p.m. Each member is asked to be present.
