Three Delegates
Frances Carney, CoChairman of the Rappahannock County Republican party, announced that at the Republican State Central Committee meeting held at the Twin Bridges Marriott Motel in Arlington on Saturday, December 10, Rappahannock County was allowed another delegate to attend the Republican Convention to be held on June 2 and 3, 1978 in Richmond.
This makes a total of 3 delegates and is due to the increase of votes cast in the county for Republican candidates for President and Governor over the past two years.

Gets Grant
Rappahannock County has been awarded a federal grant for $10,400 to purchase an ambulance with a radio for emergency medical services. The Sperryville Rescue Squad will receive the ambulance.
The allocation is available under the U. S. Highway Safety Act of 1966 and its revisions and administered by the Highway Safety Division of Virginia, according to Director John T. Hanna.
