The second meeting, this one of the governor’s budget advisory board, took place in the Senate Chamber Dec. 6 Many of the same state officials were present and were joined by the members of the legislative money committees with Lt. Gov. -elect Charles Robb. Members of the business community did not attend.
Those present heard members of the Governor’s cabinet outline their needs for the 1978-80 budget period, and afterward Gov. Godwin again briefed reporters on what transpired.
The purpose here is not to criticize the meetings themselves. The governor is to be commended for consulting ' with the best legislative and financial advisors available in putting together the state’s budget in this time of economic squeeze.
