CHAPTER 8. Fox. R8 1. (a) It shall be unlawful to hunt foxes with dogs only in the city of Newport News from February 1 through Sep tember 30, both dates in elusive. (b) It shall be unlawful to hunt foxes with dogs only on the George Washington National Forest and on the Gathright, Goshen, Highland and Little north Mountain Wildlife Management Areas from February 1 through October 31, both dates inclusive. (c) It shall be unlawful to hunt foxes with dogs only in the counties of Clarke, Fairfax (except that portion closed to all hunting), Fauquier (except within the confines of the Quantico Marine Reservation) and Loudoun from April 1 through August 31, both dates inclusive. R8 2.1. It shall be lawful to hunt foxes with guns and dogs from December 1 through January 31, both dates in elusive, in the counties of Bland, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Dickenson, Flovd. Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Roanoke, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise and Wythe.
R8 8. Except as otherwise specifically provided by local legislation and with the specific exceptions provided in the regulations appearing in this chapter, it shall be lawful to trap foxes from November 15 through January 31, both dates inclusive. R8 8.1. M shall be lawful to trap foxes from December 15 through January 31, both dates inclusive, in the counties of Accomack, Charles City, Essex, Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, King and Queen, King George, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, North ampton, Northumberland, Richmond, Southampton, Surry, Westmoreland and York; and in the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk (area formerly constituting Nansemond County) and Virginia Beach; and east of U.S. Route 95 in the counties of Caroline, Chesterfield, Fairfax, Greensville, Hanover, Henrico, Prince George, Prince William, SpotsyIvania, Stafford and Sussex
