Replacement
To the editor: We want to thank you lor your coverage of last weeks Citizens for Better Education meeting. As President of that organization I would like to emphasize the part concerning the reappointment or replacement of the School Board member from the StonewallHawthorne District.
Essentially we have a good School Board but it could be much better by having a replacement rather than a reappointment. We have been attending the School Board meetings regularly and feel that the replacement would mean a more effecient conduct of business.
With a Board this size one person can make a great deal of difference. The person who could make that difference is Mr. Irvin Kenyon of Slate Mills. His character is above reproach. He is active with our children in the County recreation^ program. He has children in the school system. He is known by the people of his area. He is an active Church member in Slate Mills.
There was a rumor circulating that Mr. Kenyon was not eligible. This is untrue. His superiors have not only declared him eligible but have encouraged him to seek such a position in his community.
If anyone would like to express their support of Mr. Kenyon I would encourage them to call or write one or more members of the School Trustee Electoral Board: Mr. George Muth, Woodville. This decision will be made by the Board of Electors at a public meeting on June 20, at the Rappahannock Elementary School, 8 p.m. I encourage you also to support Mr. Kenyon by coming to that meeting.
